I have a white Numnah that for love nor money i cannot get it to go white in the wash!! Has anyone any tricks or Tips they could let me in on?

The instructions say wash at 30 - but unless there is some magic detergent somewhere it's not happening!!

Help??!!

I think they look like those things you stick on the side of the loo (well, what I imagine they look like, I've never put anything like that in my loo!). I reckon you'd need an old fashioned everything type of shop. I googled it but couldn't find much.

Ok, let me know if you find anything on them! Worth a try but you're going to have to give me a steer on what I'm looking for at Tesco's!!

What detergents do people use on horse stuff?

I don't think you can get blue bags now, I used to soak my palamino's tail with those, you could try curtain white or have you try the vanish products?

I did think about that, but I've been told in the past to go easy on detergents on horsey items which will be close to fur/skin.

But I must admit I've been using the ariel on a 30deg wash, but it doesn't seem to work!! And this is Ariel!!

Perhaps I should Pre-soak like my Nan used to in a bucket!! It's got a bit of sheepskin on it, wold it ruin it do you think?

soaking is good, I always give an extra rinse on horsey stuf to get rid of any residue soap, and if you get a wire pin brush, like a dog brush you can fluff the sheepskin back up.

Use NuuMed Nuuwash and wash at 40degrees, it will be fine and wont hurt your horses skin. NuuWash is designed for horses and is soap based. Works on my whites beautifully.

I have a grey so don't want my numnah to be too white as it makes him look dirty!!

Vanish oxy action is good on my OH's work shirts. Or soak in a bit of very dilute bleach, and wash twice (just to be sure it's all gone) afterwards - not sure how this would affect the sheepskin though.
