AS it is dark by the time I get to the stables and the school is very boggy at the moment my horse is not really getting much exercise. Do you think there are people around who would want to come and ride him during the day, to maybe hack out a bit, we are close to loads of hacking, he would need an experienced rider as he is quite spooky. I would not want a contribution but they could probably much out occasionally if they liked. What do you think, are there people like this out there?

Yup - there are a lot of mums with school age children who might be interested in such an arrangement. Only problem is that some of them might be returning to riding after a break and therefore might be a bit rusty or not as confident as they used to be.

I had a great sharer as above had school age kids and only worked part time, she hacked my crazy vetran out twice a week it was the perfect arrangement she loved taking him out to let of steam and I focused on his schooling in the dark evenings, I didn't specify what she could and couldn't do it seemed to naturally just work out like that. Looking back I must've been a bit nuts she could've turned out to be a physco. I heard this week of a woman in our area who'd let a 'sharer' ride her horse and ended up paying out a small fortune for a back specialist and dentist after he damaged his neck and bruised his tongue turned out the girl had been riding him in fixed side reins ouch!

people like me - would far rather do during the day than evening or weekends. I'm available due to being at uni for instance.

They are out there

I have offered my mare to yard manager to hack during the day in the winter - we do have a floodlit school but I like her to get out and don't always get a chance on the weekend if I am competing or have a lesson. Also we don't have proper turnout in the winter so could always ride her again myself in the eve. Yard manager has an elderly horse so do much and loves to hack out. Maybe you could find someone similar at your yard?

Yes, I mostly hack during thae day. I work different hours due to shift work. Its great because I get to ride during the day when its quiet at the yard. I also avoid the yard at the weekend when EVERYONE is there!!

I have got someone exactly like that for Marius. She comes and hacks him out once a week at the moment. She doesn't contribute any money, but is brilliant with him and just what he needs. I am very happy with the arrangement. I hope you can find someone, too.

Yes there are certainly people out there who would want to ride in the day. As mentioned, people who have their kids at school & are away from work at the moment. You could put an advert in your local Tack Shop. I'm sure you'd have some replies & you could sort out who you want.
Good Luck

Yes there are people who would want to do that, I used to exercise a horse for someone for about 5 years before getting one of my own. I was a housewife with schoolage kids so no ties during the daytime. Could you ask around/advertise in local tack shops etc?
