Personal accident/injury cover; Recommendations? Please

Friend had bad accident , fell off horse and broke vertebrae in her neck . She discovered she is entitled to nothing with NFU insurance unless permanently disabled or dead! I am also insured for personal accident with them. Doe anyone recommend other companies that do not cost the earth but will pay out if injured and unable to work ?

I Think the BHS gold membership covers personal accident: not sure about the terms tho, as can't find it on website!
 
perhaps hospital accident plan - gives money if in hospital more than few days. income protection from a financial advisor at the bank - although horse/high risk jobs will be excluded from applying.
I'm off with damaged pelvis and hip at moment from a fall and my expired bhs gold membership flashed into my head when i was lying on the ground unable to get up - bizaar! needless to say its reinstated now. i would imagine bhs would payout easy enough but not huge amounts and may be death but is cheap.
In my opinion avoid "combined insurance company"!!!!

Thank you. It will be a while before my friend will know if she can ride again, ATM she cannot use one of her arms and needs an operation on her neck all being well she will recover and be riding again.
 
That's awful - your poor friend!!!

I'm hunting about for some insurance of this type because most - including the BHS gold only pay out if it's a permanent thing i.e. loss of leg etc. But it's a bit of a minefield - i fear I may have to resort to a broker but grudge paying fees!
