Does anyone have any fly spray recommendations? Or know of any really light weight (I live in the Med) fly sheets with broad tummy/chest bits?
My poor boy has kicked the fur off a patch on his chest from trying to get rid of the flies, it looks really sore and is just going to get worse the more he stamps and kicks. I'm thinking of putting over reach boots on him too, to try and minimise the damage he does, but something to keep the flies off long term would be a much better solution!

Hi, here in South West France, I have similar problems.
I use Alumsol ???, the silver spray in a can, to cover the sore on the mare's chest, just behind the girth, where she stamps to get the flies on her belly. Awful things.

With a spray like this one, you can cover and protect the area from flies. Buy the spray at the vets, tack place or maybe chemists .Give it a good shake first.

I have all but given up finding a suitable fly spray.

I have just received my first try at Neem Oil from Pro Equine in Scotland, Fiona, was very helpful on the phone and should be able to post to you,
I have made a Neem oil rinse or spray for after riding, and before turnout at night when the mossies are at their worst.

Neem Oil stinks a bit but if it works, hey!. I was advised to mix a few drops of geranium or lavender oil into the mixture, and some fairy liquid for adhesion.
I also use the Avon skin so soft, there is a thread running on here about that.
For a flyrug, I had to get one in a hurry last week, and Decathlon has one for 49.95 euros,
I am pleased with the fit and the spec.
Decathlon fly masks are very good too. Good luck!

Thank you very much for your advice, sounds like you are in exactly the same situation! I will get him a fly sheet ASAP, I picked up some over-reach boots today to see if they will stop him from bashing his chest so hard with his heels, I will let you know if they help at all.
Thanks again!
