Does anyone have a Pessoa GEN X ELITE saddle and if whats it like and what shape/size horse do you have it on? Also is it easy enough to change the gullet on it? Reason i ask is ive been recommended one for my mare who is a Belgium Warmblood with quite a flat back and no wither.

Jaffa Cakes all round :p

I had the first generation type I think for my last horse (sold it as it didn't fit current horse).
They look to have tweaked the design slightly since, panels are different (mine were a foam & flock mix) - but the general concept looks similar.

I really liked the saddle, and if the tree/panel type is right for the horse then I would recommend. The gullet was easy to change, took about 5 mins and needed a screwdriver.

It fitted a 3/4 TB type - he had really big shoulders with a long distance from wither to where the saddle rested, relatively narrow weak back. He measured a medium but needed it fitted wider and padded out. Very sensitive to saddles and this one he liked.

Horse it didn't fit is a MW-W small hunter type, with small wither and broader back surface. I rode in it for a while and it didn't cause the horse problems but did tend to slip.

This GEN X though isn't identical, they certainly look to have modified the panel.

Saying that, inbetween horses, I had a little round cobby type as a project/sell-on. He came with a saddle (XW) designed for cobs which moved so badly I tried my pessoa with an XW gullet - cobby job was much happier and saddle didn't move. Random though as he was the complete opposite in type to the horse the saddle was originally purchased for.

Hmmmmm im in a dilema really as the horse you have that it didnt fit sounds more like my mare! She has no wither, quite broad back, and she is so short from the wither to where the saddle fits that even a cob 5 point breastplate is too big! She has big shoulders for a little horse and is currently in a wide stubben roxanne but it slips when she is having a sharp day! What saddle did you put on the small hunter type?
