...was wondering if anyone could tell me how loose the ropes should be when fitted properly on the lowest setting?

I know this is difficult to answer if you're not with the horse but piccies or anything would be appreciated!

I don't know if I'm supposed to have it so it forces him to work long and low or loose so he can work long and low if he chooses to!?!

I know the sheepskin bit at the back should be at stifle height but I don't want to have the ropes too tight so they restrict his movement!

Sufficiently tight so that when your horse does go long and low, he actually sees a benefit..so not flappy, hard to explain without being there!

i agree sufficently tight but still allowing movement so that he chooses to go long and low rather than force
