I insure with emporium however the lady I work with has had a terrible time with her lovely dog and is insured with Direct line. They have been amazing and give up to £8000 for vets fees so I’m absolutely swapping to them this year. Defo worth a quote

I was with directline and they did pay out with no problem but they were exorbitant once my dog reached 10.
I think it was £125 a month, I cancelled.

Many pets - were bought by many. They were a lot cheaper than pet plan for equivalent life time cover. And have paid out a fortune for my dog, the full £7k this year alone with out any issues. They were a bit of a pain with the first claim for this dog, demanding a full vet history for a 2 year old rescue which of course wasn't available but backed down once they spoke to the rescue themselves. Previously, they had paid nearly the full vets fees amount within a month of the policy being taken out with no problems for a different dog. But my premium went up 60% this year at renewal!

Do pick your insurance company carefully - once you make a claim, you're pretty much stuck with them if you want continuing cover for that condition as if you change company, they will exclude any previous illnesses and anything linked to it in future. And they make horse insurance companies look like amateurs when it comes to linking later illness to current exclusions.

I changed from Petplan to Manypets (bought by many ) . Have had a fairly hefty claim and can’t fault them . Last invoice (for physio) I completed online claim Sunday evening, money was in my account 9 am next morning. My premium actually went down at renewal too

I am with Many Pets, first time I have insured a dog past puppy stage and had to claim on an infected foot. They were excellent and so easy to deal with so I have continued to insure with them and if I ever get another dog will use them for that too.
