Hiya, just wondering if you could all give me your recommendations on pet insurers? Having gone from 1 to 3 dogs recently, I think its high time I got them insured. Thanks! *health/vet insurance - its not that my pack of mutts are worth anything other than my emotional attachment to them!

I just changed mine to Tesco pet insurance as she was with Petplan (got her from Dogs Trust so just continued the insurance). However, I was paying over £20 a month which i thought was a little steep. I had that life cover which means you get treatment for any illnesses/conditions the dog may get for the life of the dog. However, considering mine is a mongrel i figured the chance of her getting any genetic problems are minimal and, if she did get something that required treatment/medication long term I was willing to pay that or would be considering whether it was the right thing to do should the situation arise.

I really wanted the cover for any emergency veterinary fees so wanted a decent vets fees limit with a lower set excess and Tesco seem to come up pretty resonable at £10/mth. There are others that cheaper but the excess had a co-insurance clause on a lot (ie a % depending onclaim amount) and I just wanted a flat excess.
