Is anyone else having trouble in trying to get through to Pet Plan? I spoke to them over 10 days ago regarding submitting a claim and they told me that because it was a third party liability claim (the puppy chewed a friends saddle!), they would have to send me a claim form out. Well I'm still waiting and having been trying to phone them throughout the day yesterday and today, I gave up and have sent them an email, but is anyone else trying to get through to them and having the same problems? This is the first time I've ever had to claim with them and not impressed at the moment. I'm wondering whether to re-insure the older dog whose insurance is up for renewal next week with them or not, but everyone tells me (including the dogs vets) that Pet Plan are the best. As for the puppy, he may not make it to adulthood - he's into the chewing everything stage - he's chewed through anything and everything that has a wire attached, the rubber mangers and buckets, 5 duvets have been pulled out of his kennel (actually a wendy house) and ripped to shreds and numerous other items - and of course the digging has started - we take our life in our hands when walking out into the yard - as our feet find yet another hole to fall over/into! He's a 7 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback - my 2 year old German Shepherd never did anything like this. Mind you, the RR is very funny to watch - especially when we fill the buckets up with water and he actually lifts them and carries them over to the other side of the yard - don't ask us how he does it - but he is certainly strong. The GSD looks at him as if he's a nutcase.
 
I have never had any problems with patplan, neither with my clients dogs who I have recetly been taking for appointments...mind youthe vets claim direct...never had to do a third party type claim, pop into your vets and see if they have any forms u can nick.

May need to think about crate training your puppy if not done so already, or u may need to claim an awfull lot more

I would stick with petplan, they are fab for medical conditions..hope u get sorted.

Phones still constantly engaged with Pet Plan whatever time I ring, so have managed to get an email through at least. As for crate training, what on earth is that? Have had dogs for many years and never come across it. He lives out in the yard as a guard dog (trainee) so it's a bit hard to keep an eye on what he's up to when we are in the house. Thankfully tack etc. is generally kept in the house so all he can get hold of now are the buckets etc.
 
So basically they're locked in a cage? Stupid question, but how does that teach them to stop chewing anything once they're out of the cage? I'd need a big cage for mine!
 
i have had a total nightmare with petplan they cancelled my policy in error and then trying to make me have another 5 stage vetting to set up the same policy. i had the same problem could never get through to them and when i did they were rude and give me wrong info. Moved to NFU now - cheaper and give better cover and don't charge you a percentage when you try and claim!!!
