My livery owner has a lovely pair of pet sheep. Yesterday one was being harassed by a magpie. It’s actually pecked through her fleece and caused a wound! Anyone dealt with this?

I had this one year with crows and one of my donkeys, they were literally pulling his hair out in tufts and flying off with it. Although they left him raw and bleeding he made no attempt to try and stop them. Very odd altogether.

I don't know what they did with the tufts as their nests don't seem to have much soft lining, just a mass of twigs.

I can only think for the donkey, as it was spring time and coat shedding, he enjoyed the grooming sessions!?

I wonder is it after insects or something in the sheep's coat?

Aww that's horrible for her? could spraying something like pepper spray over her coat work I wonder - do avoid the head and eyes obviously.

Does it keep coming back to attack her? If it is I would definitely enlist someone from the local shooting fraternity to humanely get rid of the pest before it passes on something horrible or continues to terrorise the poor thing

I have heard of this happening before. I hate seeing corvids on livestock, it always makes me wonder whether the birds can sense an animal is under the weather.
