Third weekend in August, two day clinic, not cheap but will be worth every penny IMHO. We think it is arranged by Forageplus, so probably not a million miles from Mold.
Details and how to book places on his website hoofrehab.com. I can tell you now we have places reserved lol

Is it suitable for horse owners as well as professionals? The course blurb says:-

'Who will the 2 day course suit: All Hoof Care Professionals, Vets and those concerned with the best functional horse hoof health and recovering hoof health'

I can only suggest you ask via the contact button. I really only wanted to spectate but there wasn't that option

If it were possible to spectate then I too may be interested. I did my own horse's feet but only did a bit a day - my back would not survive much practical work at all!

Spent hours pouring over the photos on his web site!

ETA - Looking at the blurb it won't be hands on - so I guess in effect everyone will be a spectator!

I had the following reply to my enquiry re suitability of the course for a horse owner rather than a professional.

'Thank you for your e-mail to hoofrehab and thank you for your patience in my responding.

The two day clinics Pete and Ivy teach are for anyone who is interested; vets, farriers, to horse owners that want to learn.

Pete’s lectures are beyond fantastic with the knowledge he teaches.

Below is the outline that he teaches;

Two-Day Hoof Rehab Clinic - The Basics:

We will cover:

· Laminitis Treatment
· Caudal Foot Pain (Navicular Syndrome/Disease)
· Nutrition and the Hoof
· Heat-Fitting Hoof Boots
· Glue-On Synthetic Shoes
· Estimating Sole Thickness
· Evaluating Caudal Foot Integrity
· Balance
· Basic and Advanced Trimming Technique
· Plus Other Issues Presented by the Demo Horses
· Plus Plenty of Question/Answer Time to Cover Whatever the Participants Need

It is highly recommended that all workshop participants watch some of the Hoof Rehab DVD sets (particularly Under the Horse and In the Trenches) and read the book Care and Rehabilitation of the Equine Foot before attending. If participants already have this background information it will dramatically raise the level of the material that can be covered during the day.

You will walk away with knowledge no doubt. Probably will get you hungry to learn more.

Please let me know if I can assist you in anyway.'

Thanks for posting that Tiddlypom, sounds as if it is going to be fascinating. I have the book but it isn't an easy read, the articles on his website are more so

That's better than the answer to the same question on FB which I found really off putting because it seemed to just say 'read the website'.
