Peter Hales / James Arkley - instructors

Not had a lesson with either but did try a horse at James Arkleys and he was very nice.
He gave me a few tips on the horse I was looking at and he seemed very encouraging as I am not the bravest rider on a strange horse.
I would have a lesson with him definately.

Peter Hales is lovely I have seen a few of his clinics and know a lot of people who have lessons with him. He is a lovely man and really does seem to get results without being mean

I've not had a lesson with James but he is also a qualified equine dentist and came out to do my babies teeth a few weeks ago.

He's a really nice guy, was very kind and sympathetic towards my horses and seemed very knowledgeable. I wouldn't hesitate to have a lesson with him on my babies in the future!!

i had a lesson with Peter years ago, on my Intermediate horse who was going horribly and headshaking like a nutter. Peter spent the whole lesson (i kid you not) saying "lovely, that's lovely... yes, lovely... lovely."
i could have screamed, if there's one thing that described it, it wasn't lovely! but then, i prefer someone who will help me get to the root of a problem, and then hopefully solve it, i don't just want flattery! this was a long time ago though, perhaps he's much better now!
J.A. does my horses' teeth and i had a long chat with him about all sorts of Eventing stuff while he was here. seems very switched on, is very very good with the horses, and i'd try him first tbh.

As you already know I think James Arkley is the mutts nuts!!!!

He has turned my horse into a superstar......I love him!!!!!

I have a lesson with him every wednesday and he helps me with everything. I can also ask him all the silly questions that I worry about asking!!

In the last year my knowledge of horses has quadrupled and I owe it all to him (and kat, his other half).

I cant recommend him highly enough and would trust him with any horse of mine!!

I sound like he's paying me to write this but its all true....

James Arkley taught at Riseholme (Lincoln) uni for a while while I was there, very good at explaining, has some different, interesting ways of doing things and ideas he's picked up. Very good

Uhh - there is no dilemma, James Arkley without a shadow of a doubt! He is a qualified instructor and has competed up to Intermediate Eventing and he BSJAs, he gives brilliant advice and never clock watches in his lesson, if you need two hours he gives two hours always finishing on a good note. I have never enjoyed my lessons so much and been inspired to go home and practice. He does all my horses teeth for dentistry too and unlike other dentists does not charge the earth only £25 per horse and shows you his work before and after talking you through everything he has or has not done. If only I could have him teach me every day of the week!!! I love him and would be lost without his help!

James is fab...I had lessons with him for the last year or so and only stopped as ive moved away and am selling my horse. He is very encouraging as I can be quite nervous but he also pushes you so you always achieve something every lesson and progress further. Would highly recommend him
