Give an Egyptian working horse a Christmas present that will make his/her life more comfortable for only £5. £5 will pay for a saddle pad and you will know that you have made a big difference to one horse's life. PFK give the pads away FREE to those that need them - over 100 already. This link contain lots of photo's a very thin horses, most of which have saddle sores. YOU could make a difference. Many people have asked how to sponsor saddle pads. Now that we have our own machine only funds are limiting the production of them! As you know the pictures we posted yesterday were taken a while back. After giving out the first batch, many owners were very upset that they didn't get a pad and Sherif was aching to realise his dream of making cart horse specific pads. Because of this I personally lent PFK the funds to produce a second batch (photos will be posted shortly!), hoping as previously that fluffiteers would be happy to sponsor them, the need is so great! We're now totally out of fabric and foam and production has therefore been put on hold. If anyone would like to sponsor a pad they are 5GBP each a small amount to pay to fund something that makes such a difference! Our paypal is princefluffykareem@hotmail.co.uk and simply reference the payment "pads!" (Emma)

I just wanted to bump this up; I have sponsored 10 pads (that doesnt even cover the cost of one pad that I buy for each of my three horses). Just put it all into perspective for me.

I think PFK is a fantastic charity. They're knowledgeable, have a great handle on what's going on around them and they are also business minded (which I think is imperative!) and they know how to promote themselves in a professional manner; a very worthwhile charity to donate to :smile3:

They are like thick polypads wench with the PFK logo. Obviously saddle fitting is minimal/most are old cavalry style saddles so the more padding the better.

If you go onto the website, you can see that some of the horses dont have pads at all. Most have horrendous (infected) saddle sores and are still made to work. When I think that each of my horses (even the retired one who is hacked once a week) gets a "set" each season which costs c £80, £50 is nothing at all.

I normally get mine a set each as a Christmas present but am sending money to PFK instead. Mine already have close to 100 pads between them, they certainly do not need any more.

I LOVE PFK and think they do incredible work. I haven't sponsored a saddle pad yet but have sponsored their foster horses recently (and got our family company and my boyfriend to donate as well). Think what an incredible difference your £5 can make to a working horse's life.

I was telling my very non hprsey husband about this and he has given me aome money to donate on his behalf bless him:)

Thank you all so much. Can you imagine the outcry if a horse in that condition was found in the UK! The saddle pads make such a difference, I know it is a drop in the ocean but that one horse won't think so!

I think they would very gratefully take them countrychic pm perrisa who started this thread hopefully she can give you the UK address to post them to .

The problem is getting them there. There is no point in sending them via post as apparently the postal system is very corrupt and it will be stolen long before getting there. When Emma visits every few months the priority is vet wrap, bute, antiseptic creams/washes, antibiotics, wormers and of course fluffy nosebands.

So perhaps you could sell them and donate the money :)

Or I can give you Emma's address to send them too but either way it will be gratefully received :D
