Here is Missie (my 5 year old) in her first intro at Skipton yesterday.

It was her first ever event and she was a very good girl

Yeah she is, she's got a fab jump in her!

We weren't placed as we got a few time penalties XC, didn't want to go too mad as it's her first ever event. I'm a bit annoyed actually as I logged on to BE site this morning to find that they'd given us 20 penalties which is completely unfair as she jumped everything; her only baby moment was making a very half-hearted 2-second bid for the lorry park about 3/4 of the way round, which they appear to have given me a stop for despite the fact we were 150 yards from the next fence! Never occurred to me they'd give me a refusal so we set off home and of course it's too late to appeal now. Grrr....

Fab photo, looks a lovely horse.

That looks a decent fence for an intro.

Very harsh about the marking but at least she performed well.

that happened to me at grt witch in March horse spooked at crowd of people about ten metres from fence then went straight and jumped it and we got 20pens

Oh well you know she was clear lovely pics

I'm glad you said that as I thought that too but thought maybe it was me being a bit windy as first event on baby horse!
Yes it's very annoying but she did jump brilliantly and I think it was just green-ness, hopefully after a couple more events she'll learn to keep her mind on the job between fences as well!

thanks! some of the fence judging at events is truly awful; Mum and I help out quite often and some of the decision are really quite shocking. This is the first time I've been on the wrong end of it tho

Wow she looks fab, I got penalised at Skipton a couple of years ago when I fell off in between the fences (like 100yds in between) pony was galloping to the 3rd last (i think it was) over the bumpy ground and spooked at a patch of sand

, did nt make any difference to the result but I did feel it was harsh!

Specially at intro level!

Yes they don't make much allowance for spooky baby horses!
let's just say Skipton is NOT my lucky event over the years!!

Well we have 2 more intros coming up at Beckwithshaw next Sunday, and Richmond the week after. Cramming them in due to cancellations and rescheduling! Then depending on how that goes may do a PN or 2 before the end of the season. But don't want to rush her as she's only just 5, so we'll just see how it goes...
