after being shod by a gaucho (without my consent)

. My blacksmith came today and did what he could. When he first saw her his jaw dropped then the cursing started

.The shoes that he removed were a size 3 (pony) and the ones he fitted are a size FIVE AND A HALF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope the idiot gets willy warts and it drops off slowly

. Jap is slowly becoming herself again and is begining to accept the Haffie with whom she will be living with . I still have to 'talk' to my very ex friend.

Bl**dy hell - what a mess! I wouldn't be in a hurry to talk to her! Hopefully though a few shoeings and they'll be back to normal. You ought to report the gaucho for working illegally as a farrier - its against the law to shoe unless you're qualified.

That is awful, I'd be so angry if that happened to me - I hope you didn't pay for that shoeing (if you can call it that!)
He really should be reported, imagine the damage he could do, if the horse didn't have an owner as knowledgable as you.
I know you can't really name and shame, but what area are you in and what van does he drive?!

To the others - Mairi is in Italy and it is apparently common practice for non-qualified people to shoe horses

Mairi's horses are lucky that she knows so much better
