Photos of Michael's fall at Burghley

I saw this fall the horse was obviously very tired and IMO the rider is totally at fault. The horse hit the previous fence very hard and also struggled over some of the earlier fences.

The rider should have pulled up, the poor horse was so exhausted he just lay in the water for ages, I and most other people there though he was dead.

They started to put the screens around him in the water which scared him (perhaps he knew what usually happens next????????) and he eventually got to his feet.

There is a very scary photo around of the previous fence (railway crossing) where Icarus just doesn't make the spread, his hind legs are extended down between the parallel rails. Hope he didn't fall there I don't know.

Even the commentator was saying how tired the horse looked, the officials should have been quicker to pull him up too.
 
you wouldn't know what type of stirrups those are anybody? just because the treads a lot bigger than anything I've seen before or maybe I'm just looking at funny...
