photoshoppers help please

hi.

i lost my mare in oct and have been diggin up old pics, as im sure lots of peole do. I have found a lovely pic from our much younger days when we were competing. If i scan the pic in to the comp, and save as a j-peg could it be photoshopped. it is a nice pose of me and her but there are others in the background and it would be nice just the two of us.
If anyone can help please let me know.

decided to post it. it also hasnt scanned too well. looks a bit, i dunno, old>? Is that my rubbish scanner or are there ticks to scanning???

There does seem to be a bit of light in at the centre of the scan, so I wonder if the photo wasn't 100% flat?
