Also in SY . . .

I have an idea for an equine product but I need an expert to help me figure out if it will/won't work and what designs might best do the job. I don't really want to just put the idea out there for general consultation.

Best would be an experienced physio and/or someone with equine biomechanics knowledge who is of an "experimental" frame of mind. Ideally in the SE but not too essential about that as can always deploy the wonders of the internet.

If anyone fits into that category or knows someone who is keen on such things, could they PM me, please. I don't want to just pester random people!

Try Annemarie Bright she is a physio horse sports massage. Google her name and her details will come up. I believe her business is called Musclebound.

..... and make sure you have some sort of confidentiality agreement in place before discussing anything interesting with anyone! ;) good luck!

Agree the confidentiality agreement! Also known as a Non Disclosure Agreement.

You'll need to protect your IPR (intellectual property rights).

I don't mean to harp, but please make sure you are covered. Any problems, questions, just shout. I'm a contract specialist, but I cover a fair bit of IPR (mainly software related).

Excellent to know, Mrs M, thank you very much!

Another kind poster on here directed me to a helpful site with useful information, consultation services and sample forms so I'm going to do my reading up before letting any cats out of bags. :)

Years ago, someone I worked for asked for my "input" on a new venture, patted me on the head condescendingly when I showed him my thoughts and said they'd decided not to pursue it . . .so guess what I saw a few years later?! Taught me not to give it away for free! :D

Thank you everyone for your concern (and the helpful pm's). Maybe something will come of it, maybe it won't but nothing ventured . . .

You're welcome. If you want anything looking over, before you want to go to the expense of solicitors etc., let me know and I'll have a look (I'll even give you a NDA lol).

One thing I would do, get it down on paper or other media before you let anyone see it, and send a copy to a trusted solicitor to hold it, proof if need be in the future of when you had the idea, etc.
