I know that it is the muscles that cause the problems and spasms etc, but after having chiro out, horse doesnt seem any better so thought I`d ask what some of you thought.
It seems that whenever I have someone out to work on my horse, they seem great at first, then as they seem to work on them more, they dont seem to work as well as it did the first time. Do you find that some people get complacent and concentrate on the bits that caused the original problem and so then miss things? Or is it just me???
And also, what do you find work on your horse best? chiro, massager, physio etc.

Thanks

i find the physio to be most effective. I can actually feel a difference when I ride my horse after the physio has been. Its like amazing, she uses laser, muscle stimulator or ultra-sound.

Sorry I havent been very clear. There isnt a great deal wrong with my mare, but I haven`t been able to get my great light, bouncy canter that I had for a few months. I couldnt get the canter and after a recent lesson, I found that I have been a little complacent with her and `letting her off` with things. The canter was halfway there, but not quite, if you understand what I mean, a little heavy in my hand and not carrying herself.
Because I couldnt get this lovely canter back properly, I had her back checked and she worked on the normal things that is her usual little niggly problem, pelvis slightly, and shoulders. But I still cant get the canter that I had, and looking at my mare, she is still slightly dropping one side of her pelvis, so I have lady coming out again on Friday but I just wondered if I should get physio instead or afterwards. When I first had this chiro, she got straight to the problem and our work quality escalated, but it isnt where it was now, hence me asking if chiros and others seem to get complacent with horses when they work on the same one regularly. I am also going to get saddle fitter to come and check saddle next week too, and get their teeth done, just to eliminate everything.
It isnt a case for the vet, she isnt lame at all and it is usually sorted out with a visit from my back lady. I`m just asking to see what others think work on their horses.
My chiro also works on me and she is very good, as she doesnt just work on bones but she stimulates the muscles too.
Thanks for reading.

An osteo. All have to qualify to work with humans before horses but I feel that a physio is more rehabilitation and doesn't have manipulation experience of a chiro or osteo. I don't personally like chiros because you cannot realign a horses pelvis etc and they always seem to suggest that!!!

I am bias as I'm starting to train as an Osteo soon but just feel it's the only route that will look at the horse in it's entirity and take into account all aspects before treating. Relief Chiro treatment is often short lived in humans so not sure if it's the same with horses.
