I need some advice, my mare has suffered with a blocked sinus for a number of months. We have finally got ontop of it but I feel she seems a bit run down.

She is stabled at night and has haylege and a scoop and half of chaff and a scoop and half of chaff in the morning. She isn't in work as I cannot ride her (I do lunge her but not at the moment) and she is out during the day.

She does greet me very vocal in the morning, she is 16 years old, I do feel that she may need to be worked as as she does seem to enjoy it but I also feel she needs something else.

Any advice given would be helpfull

Sometimes cl it's as much about what is happening outside the horse's body as what is happening inside. Can you take her for long walks in hand for a change of scenery and to perk her up and get her interested in life again? Has she got company or is she in isolation? If she can't have company, could you borrow a stable mirror? Or put her in a different stable so she can see the world going by? Does she have a stable toy or do you hide pieces of carrot etc in her haynet? Anything to get her HEAD interested in life again, rather than just her tum. Good luck x
