Pick up recommendations please

My beloved little car, after 17 years of service is beyond repair and will now retire to the yard.

Need recommendations of 4x4 pick ups that will be on the second hand market needs to be able to pull plenty, have option of a hard top on the back of it hasn’t already got into and be able to seat 4/5 people, that’s about it. Don’t need all the bells and whistles.

Will be my everyday car and I accept that fuel economy will be an issue however I can’t be too fussy. Anything will be a shock compared to my little 1.1 litre.
I will also be taking my towing test as I know this car will put me over the limit.
Any ideas you wonderful people?

you cannot really go wrong with a Toyota Hilux, last forever and very reliable.

Yes second Toyota HiLux, love mine.

Other makes have more towing capacity I believe, Nissan / Isuzu

We’ve had a few over the years and are now on our second Isuzu Utah. OH tows nearly daily and this truck really does the job well. Last one was manual which OH prefers, the new one is auto. Pulls well and very stable.

We've had a Mitushubi L200 for several years, it is the basic model, doesn't have central locking for instance. It is a workhorse, has been trouble-free with only wearing parts needed replacement and considering how it is treated it has been great. It tows OK I have done up to 70 miles on the motorway with the trailer. It is a pick-up not a luxury car but if it was the only vehicle we had I wouldn't care too much.

We have a Ford Ranger and it's great. Tows 2 beasts like there's nothing there. Very comfy and nice to drive.
