My sisters older retired mare was sadly pts recently, who's main role was companion to my 2 girls. Unfortunately one of mine can't be left alone, which makes taking the other out impossible. I also have a 2 year old niece who adores animals. So, introducing Earl!

He is just the cutest thing. Can't wait for cuddles! :)

Just got to spend the morning shetland proofing his turnout patch!
My sister/niece don't know yet- they're coming for dinner tonight, so will be a lovely surprise.
The names growing on me!!!

He's a registered mini Shetland, can't remember his breeding but will find out when I get his passport later. He is 32", advertised on horsemart and is literally 5 minutes down the road! He's done lots of in hand showing, and horse agility! He was blue and white, but has greyed out a lot now (he's rising 7). Also a lot slimmer now than in the first pic, and hoping to keep it that way..!
He's a surprise for my sister and her daughter, who are coming over for dinner later none the wiser. Can't wait to see her reaction!

You certainly found some treasure right on your doorstep!

Gorgeous little thing. Love the name and absolutely think you should sneakily video the reactions of your sister and niece when they first see him :)

way to cute much to cute he needs to come live with me :D

Thanks all!
well he arrived and settled in brilliantly, totally besotted with my mares! They didn't realise he was a horse when we unloaded him, they glanced up and thought "oh they've bought another dog" and carried on grazing! Not until he neighed did they come trotting over with their tails in the air to investigate, lots of squeals through the fence for a few minutes and now they're totally happy. Love him already, he's such a cheeky chappie.
Sister and niece aren't coming till tomorrow now! But I will be sure to get what will be adorable pics of him with my niece! :D

Aww how lovey glad Earl has settled in. Deffo pics of your niece's reaction. How old is she?

Photos as promised!!
To the hat brigade- niece was held the whole time she was on board, ready to be picked off again if things went wrong! She will be getting a hat (and boots, a saddle etc!) soon. She was just so happy and just wanted to sit on him- as soon as she got off she was trying to get back on again!
Earl was such a good boy, izzy loved him so much (as you can see from her face!)
