Murphy is on "box rest" in the field, i.e. tiny space, as he has tendonitis. I moved his square to a different part of the field at the weekend and rather foolishly took Pickle and Evie in the field with me. The pictures say it all, I have now had to cut my precious electric tape. :p (sorry pic overload :D)

Wasn't me mum

And then Evie had to add her football to the mix.

Ha ha!

Reminds me when I had Harley at PC Camp with me last year, he was 10 months old. Nowadays all the arenas have to be taped in with those special poles and tape. We were clearing it all away after the comp at the end of camp and Harley thought it was SSOOOOOOO much fun to grab it and charge off across the enormous field unravelling it as he went!

The other instructors thought it was HILARIOUS!!! Well, of course THEY would. It was MY dog, so I had to gather it all back up myself!

Flipping dogs hey??? :) :)

Well he has grown and is absolutley lovely, your daughter is going to notice a difference when she gets home. How is his training going? Pip picks things up very quickly, when my daughter & bf gets home at night Ive taught her something new and they are amazed.

He is growing yes, wish he would sort his ears out. Think they may end up tipped, his dam had tipped ears although no others in his close pedigree.
He is doing quite well training wise, we start at classes tomorrow that should be fun. He has a real phobia about me trying to look at his teeth, really hates it so I am spending a lot of time just getting him used to that. I trimmed his nails today and he was good as gold though.

We are a bit concerned about Pips tail, its seems to be either straight or loops under if that makes sense. Also around the head and collar area she has some lighter coloured hairs, although her nails were quite long she is a big digger and it seems to be wearing them down.:D

She met Flora & Ellie the other day(Vizzys dogs) and Ellie taught her a good lesson about manners as she is rather over the top when she meets strange dogs.

I think there is quite a variety in type, quite surprising in a numerically small breed, you would think the fact that there are only so many lines would make them quite typey. I can remember when we had Abi seeing heelers at shows that carried their tails quite low, and their colours varied from a really rich tan to quite light gold. If you look at the breed standard there is plenty of room for interpretation.;)
Pickle is very OTT when he meets other dogs, yaps loudly and his bark is so piercing. I think I may wear ear plugs tomorrow night.:o

Are you going to show Pickle? I think my daughter and boyfriend would like to give it a try but I think the Lancashire Heeler classes in this part of the country are few and far between. I would be very interested to see her up against some others, have been looking on the Lancashire Heeler Community web site and I think she compares favourabley with others on there but we will not know until she is in the ring and judged.

I doubt he will be shown, his bits will be coming off fairly early on I suspect.:p I think my daughter quite fancies doing agility with him when he is old enough, all depends up where she ends up working and if there are any clubs nearby.

He's soooooooooooooo cute!

DG they arent actually...I had a sneeky look the other day, I forgot to say! When is she 6 months? Heelers seem to do better for breed classes around here than we do!
Need to bring Ellie round for some more Pippi mothering/playing/life lessons! and Flora for some Diesel and Darcy hooning of course!

ETA I love Pickles ickle floppity ears!

No not tempted really, wouldn't have minded a litter from Abi but she wasn't really good enough, and then of course had health problems too. Its not my final decision of course, but with him having a vet for an owner I don't think he will have them for too long!

Is she gona lop them off herself!? Dont tell Pickle! :D

Probably, with 2 very small bricks! No I think she will ask our vets to do it. Pickle wouldn't be happy if he had seen the pics she posted on fb of herself and another vet neutering cats in Fiji, primitive isn't the word, out in the open air, with several cats layed out next to each other on what appears to be a large ground sheet!

:eek::D:D
Best breed from him then that bumps the price up you know! :p;):D

In the Tradeit they have Labradoodles for sale from£450-----£1300 , with a rare breed like LHs and the rarer teacup varities you could charge what you wanted. You might have the Lancashire Heeler Club after you for bringing the breed into disrepute but you console yourself counting all the money:D.

Pip is 2 weeks older than Pickle being born on 14th May.

Ah thought it was just one week. He's still got some catching up to do though.
I've just realised the money making designer breed is staring me in the face, now do I call them German Heelers or Lancashire Shepherds.:p

Well Im liking Lancashire Shepherds and also thinking Landobes unfortunatley Diesel has had the chop.

It just makes me so mad these designer breeds, a lot of them cost far more than a pedigree health tested dog. We had a Labradoodle at Agility the other night Darcy couldnt take her eyes off it, I think she was thinking WTF, is it a sheep, the owners had bought it as a puppy, I had to walk away dont want to upset people and get kicked out .

I may get a barrage of abuse for this, but i had a Border Terrrier, who as a puppy, had a 'one ear up, one ear down' situation. I Copydexed it and after a few weeks he had perfectly symetrical ears!

Very cute btw.:)

Well I wish I had known that as our last Lancashire Heeler had exactly the same problem and as it was never fixed she always looked a bit odd, sort of half alert.:D

But with borders you're trying to keep the ears down aren't you. Heelers ears should be up, or just tipped. I do know quite a few people in the GSD world who can do wonders with chiropodists felt with soft ears.;) I spose I could always call them in to sort out Pickle.

Well her breeder often asked if her ears had gone up yet and after the first one went up we just thought the other would go up eventually but it never did.

I think Lancashire Shepherd does sound like an actual breed, if people can swallow Labradoodle and Jugs you are on to a winner.:D

Lancashire shepherd it is then! Years ago a friend who had GSDs also had a very ugly mongrel. For a laugh he told someone he was a rare breed, an Abyssinian Flock Hound, and they believed him. Word spread and everyone was talking about this new breed Eric had, just goes to show how easy it is to fool people.
