Who do you insure pickups with? Just had my renewal through for a 2011 NAvara and its double last years premium!!
Only used for personal use

Direct Dial insure OH's Invincible. Got the quote initially through GoCompare then dealt with the company directly on renewal this time. About £275 for a 56 plate with 9 years no claims.

I think our Nav is with Admiral, we run it through a couple of comparison sites each year, look for van insurance rather than car insurance.

Also are you aware of the Chassis issue with Navaras? Ours is currently being bought back by Nissan under warranty due to chassis corrosion. If you haven't already you should get Nissan to check it.

Just the D40, not the D22 or NP300 so 2005 up to 2015 in theory but currently Nissan are only accepting issues with 2005 -2011. They won't fix them only buy them back and scrap them.

There was a model year change when they updated to Euro 5 in 2012 they say they have found no evidence in these yet.

That is what Nissan are saying but the chassis design apparently didn't change so many people think it is only a matter of time. If I had one I would be very wary, if you are aware of the issue then at least you can keep an eye on it.

My Nav is going in next Sat for checking the chassis

Going in? You aren't paying for this are you? If you call Nissan customer services they should offer an independent inspection for free if you vehicle is 05-11. It is normally done at home by RAC or Dekra.

Some people have been treated badly by dealers who have charged them for an inspection that isn't the inspection required by Nissan when by phoning Nissan UK they could have got this done free.

It's having an MOT at a Nissan dealership (came free when I bought the truck) so have asked them to check at the same time. I won't be paying

The corrosion protection changed we have a few and no signs on any of them.

Just a warning to anyone with a pickup truck to check with your insurance company that they cover you for towing a horse trailer. I have found that most of them won't as they say it's too heavy or just that they don't cover towing :-(

I think theres been a misunderstanding. I have never heard of any that wont . By law you will be covered for third party damage ,some may not cover damage to your trailer unless it is added to the policy some you dont need to . For example on ours any trailer up to value of 52K is covered fully comp if normally used with the trucks whether attached or not.

Hi

Does anyone use there pickup for social, domestic and commuting, I need a towing car but will need it for driving to work aswell, as these are classed as commercial vehicles I am finding it hard to quote on the comparison sites

Any ideas?

Thanks

I do. It wasn't an issue. I went to GoCompare, clicked where it said "is it a pickup", went to their sister site, and filed out a quote
