Im now 6 month old JRT puppy has never been a fan of food since i got her. Shes a very little dog but i need some ideas.

I always have down dry dog food which she nibbles at by doesnt really like and 3 times a day i put tinned or tray dog food down but she rarely eats it- and i mean rarely.

If i leave it down all day she might eat it if im lucky but then it goes dry so is thrown away.

I have tried all the different tins and trays in the shops and the webbox stuff and sometimes she eats it to begin with but not the next time.

She poo's twice a day so it obv getting enough but im wondering if her small size is becuase she doesnt eat well although her parents were very small.

When i was young my mum used to boil up mince hearts liver etc and give that to the dogs but will this provide all her vits and mins?????

I could really do with some advise on if im ding the right thing of should i change her diet?

Have you tried just putting down very small amount of meat, instead of her full portion?

If she shows no interest take the food away (don't leave it down all day). Pop some clingfilm on it - and offer it again at lunch time.

some of my jrts are very fussy!
things you can try - tripe, if you can bear the smell. they LOVE it and it's really good for them.
hard boiled eggs. value corned beef. cheese.
if you don't mind her developing into a little princess, of course!

What you have to remember is that this puppy has a tiny stomach, you are probably giving it way too much food, so although it looks like it is eating nothing, in fact it is eating plenty in relation to its size, especially as the waste material is coming out each day.

My JRT is fed Science diet food (first the puppy one then the adult) and always scoffs it up (except for a couple of weeks after being spayed where she was a little under the weather). Even then we only had to put a tiny amount of sauce or meat from our dinner on top of it and she would gobble it up.

As she is a v small JRT though, we have never got away from the '3 tiny meals a day' approach, and she still gets breakfast, dinner and supper. Each meal is about 12-15 little round crunchies.
