So- following on from this thread a week ago http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=614516
I have been getting to know my new boy and have to say- he has been absolutely fabulous! SO chilled and relaxed and an absolute poppet to ride. Focused and non-plussed by things going on around him.
He has such a fantastic work ethic, he really does. He enjoys having a job so much, he would never cope being a field ornamanet. He LOVES his work.
Have been getting to grips with him in the school.
My mum videoed me at the start of the week and I was HORRIFIED at how 'handy' I was. I haven't been having consistent lessons now (due to my old horse having health issues) for about 6 months and I have picked up or slipped back into
some very bad habits! I was fussing and getting jabby and he is used to being ridden by a pro so will not tolerate that at all- not by doing anything nasty, just by doing his giraffe impression
and getting tense and rigid. When you relax and soften this horse relaxes and softens and when you are clear and consistent with what you want, he will give you it.
SO, with that in mind. Hopped on board yesterday and was determined to try and ride more quietly, not jab constantly (even though I dont think I realise I am doing it sometimes
) and to try and just relax.
Pics.....
And a quick vid......... I know I need to look up more- I am terrible for looking down. My mum did take a couple of other videos too but they are about 11 mins long each lol and I gave up trying to upload them as they were taking forever.

We are a work in progress but I am confident we will get there. Will try get more in another week or so of all 3 gaits.
And a pic from our first hack today- he was such a good little boy bless him
Milkybar and Sweet Chilli peanuts for getting this far
