Would you mind showing me your pics of horses completely clipped out with legs off also. I am thinking of getting Corroy's taken off as she looks like a shaggy pony.

My coblet with no hair.

Its amazing how different a hairy cob can look without hair,he looks lovely,i use to have show cobs and spent so much time clipping them out but it was worth it,i now have a ID he has a full clip but have left his legs and forlock, though only clipped him 5 weeks ago and already growing back

Although this is slightly off topic both these boys have their legs clipped feb- Oct and found the trick to blending is to not think of just clipping fetlock and below, you really need to go up to back of the knee as it takes any stray hairs. I tend to go up and whip it all off then go down, with the hair at a slight angle to blend it all in. It works well with me anyway and i use the same tech with th 3/4 shire who has full feather so has whole lower leg taken off and the precherons and brabant x who only have "grifins claws" but obv they only get the back of their leg done to make them look more "carriagey."

He is never that hairy, he is clipped out all year round!

ETA - This is him fully clipped with legs on, but trimmed with scissors.

I don't have a problem doing the fetlock down, my clippers fit in the gap perfectly! But when I do the ponies, I get as much off as possible with the clippers and then use trimmers for the bit that's left.

I was going to have Grace's off this time, but I have wimped out and decided to leave them on again I think... she has quite hairy mary legs though at the moment

Not at all... Grace had everything off the first time she was clipped and she looked great. I would do it again, but I have just moved yards and she can go out where I am now and I think the extra layer would help her when it is muddy
