He looks so lovely in the summer but his mane spoils the picture, its very dry, frizzy and dull. Was told he would go flaxen but nearly 4 now so not much chance of that. Are there any sprays or anything to make it bit more smooth, sleek and shiny?

Rub a bit of baby oil onto your hands and smooth his mane. You might find that it will de-frizz as he gets older. He is lovely BTW.

Some john frieda de-frizz and a blow dry works for my mental hair though might be a bit costly for pony :-)
I find avon products cheap and often work very well i know they do a straighten balm that helps easy, my hair is wild curly and gets ridculously dry in summer. Would somehting like vo5 conditioner help as great for softening up hair, all esle fails attack him with the hair straightners :-)

Coconut oil is amazing, works on my frizzy hair when nothing else will! Seems to give condition and shine without greasiness - I used Frizzeze for years but the silicon is so drying. It comes in a solid block, just scratch a bit off and melt in your hands. Sure it'll work for horses too.

I use Morrocan oil (also known as Argan oil) its amazing on my very coloured hair you only need a tiny bit. I use it on my hair after every wash and on ponies for special occasions- 100ml bottle last me about 3 months and I've got LOTS of hair!

My friend uses Moroccan argan oil from Avon, it is quite cheap, you don't need much and you can get good multibuys too on eBay, plus obv good for your own hair and doesn't have the greasy effect like baby oil (which I use as I am cheap and more for mud resistance!).

I would straighten that mane for a show if I had electric access :-) bet it would be really satisfying!

Have to agree with Lauren489 - Canter Mane & Tail Conditioner is fantastic stuff, works wonders although it can be a bit pricy. I once used this on a 2 year old Welsh Sec D, completely unhandled so you can imagine what her tail was like. Armed with a bottle of this stuff (and an hour or two's brushing) her tail was sleek and shiny and beautiful. I've never used anything else so can't comment on the others.

Mr Sheen or Tescos own funiture polish. It works a treat! The cans can be noisy, so I spray onto a brush or comb and comb it through, for her tail I spray straight on to as she doesn't mind the noise.

serum or get an old spray bottle, some conditioner and some water, mix and squirt, I would actually use a decent (ish) conditioner with keratin or protein.

We had a horse with a similar mane and we used a leave in conditioner for affro hair it worked really well and he smelled lovely!
