Pictures of hooves

Well, looks like a native type who could be barefoot, allowing the hooves to shape up naturally. Is the conformation poor, or has he had shoes left on too long.
I can't really tell what is going on.

Hmmmm, hairiness looks like a cushings coat to me.
Front feet in double side clip shoes means the farrier is struggling to keep the toes back, hinds a very long in the toes and heels. Not easy to see heel bulbs or heel height under the hair.

Ok thank you guys, I'm going to clip the hair away tomorrow (was going to anyway) and I will post non fluff pics tomorrow. Many thanks, you are already putting my mind at rest

Don't forget sole shots when you do the new shots, plus front and rear ones as well as side on. Also put the camera practically on the ground when you take the photos (except for sole shots).

ETA - A, you beat me to it!

I'm sorry but I have been used as a pawn in too many games between people and their farrier or trimmer. I will not comment until you explain why you want me to.

This crossed my mind.
All hooves look long/tall to me but please don't think or assume they need to be or can be safely shortened by trimming. You need professionals on the ground who can assess P3 position, sole thickness etc.
If you are not happy get second and third opinions if necessary, including vet opinion.

thank you everyone. i shall get in the case tomorrow.
please may i add though for those of you concerned, there is no blame here. I am not looking to play anyone off against another. This horse has had 2 different diagnosis and i know which one i'm going for but as i have had others tell me i'm mad, cruel etc..... i just want to put my mind at rest. The only thing important to me is getting my horse back on the road to recovery or PTS if that is what is deemed as necessary (preferably the first option!!!)
Hence why i want completely unbiased opinions without me telling you what has been said so i don't put words in your mouths. Once you have seen the next set of pictures i will reveal what has been said by vets / farrier. thanks again

Looking at the way the horse is shod it looks like the fronts have been put on the allow for a better breakover point (not sure if that's the right phrase or not?). Mine had this when he had suspensory issues, they don't look like they offer much in the way of heel suporrt though. The backs look like lami feet to me.

It also looks a bit like the horse hasn't seen a farrier at regular intervals, though I'm only basing that on seeing some horses at the yard I'm at who get there feet done like clockwork against those who bumble along getting the farrier at random intervals.

OK :)

I'll comment on the next set if I can help. Right now, those are some of the oddest pastern angles I've ever seen :)

Please tell us the age and size of the horse or pony too.

Looks like an old pony with Cushings that is/has been laminitic. Has he been tested/ treated for Cushings?
