Hi.

I've been trying to buy a new bridle for one of my youngsters. I normally buy nice bridles but don't want to get her one as she's a baby so she will probably trash it!!

I was wondering about getting her a evision equine one-

But the picture is fuzzy so I wondered if anyone here had one? Or hopefully a photo of a horse in one!!

The other bridle I like was from saddlery for you 2 on eBay and was this one-

Does anyone have good/bad experience of these bridles? Lady said it could be made with billets but looking at the lower down pictures I'm wondering if it looks a bit cheap and it's going to be £85

Or any other ideas? It needs to be black, with billets as i dont like buckles to the bit, cob sized and trashable by a baby horse!!!

Tasty raspberry and chocolate cocktails to be sent to anyone that can help!!!!!

Hi,

I have 2 FSS bridles both bought on eBay. I have been really pleased with them as they are great quality for the price. The only thing I would say is that the padded nosebands are quite chunky (I have the crank flash) and my mare didn't settle well into the contact with a snaffle in her flatwork but is perfectly happy with that bridle with her gag for jumping.

I have the browband from FSS, pretty nice quality :) (extra-full)

I tend to mix and match bridle parts - the headpiece & noseband of this bridle is stubben - the headpiece is full size and the noseband is extra-full. The cheek pieces are sabre! All cheap off ebay - Black will always match black ;)

If you want cheap why not get a second hand one from eBay?

I'm not fussed about really cheap, my last competition bridle for my grown up horse cost about £300 so I just don't want to spend that much for it to be trashed.

I'd like her to have a new one though, it's stupid but shes a homebred and although I don't want to spend mega money I'd like her to have a new one!

My grey boy has an Evision bridle that the lady who has him on loan bought him. I can't really post a piccie as she is in all of them but for the money it is a really lovely bridle and he is a nightmare to fit so they supplied the bridle in pieces so that it fitted him, so a mixture of cob, pony and full! (very broad forehead and narrow nose - typical Connie!)

While you look or mally pics - all Roo pics are also evision bridles! He has the plain one for jumping and patent for dressage! Fit and shape is identical. Lovely bridles!

Love my FSS bridle from ebay. Very good quality, needed an oil to loosen up when I first got it, but otherwise, been brilliant :)

Not e best pic, but my boy innhis FSS bridle. I will upgrade one day but for now it does the job, shines up well for comps and fits him nicely.

Haha! Ive been really pleased with mine, for the money its v.smart and hard wearing, and now its worn in a bit fits really well.

Bought an FSS for £40 on ebay the week before my horse arrived thinking it would last for 6 months and I'd replace it but 4 1/2 years later I still have it.

With the padded noseband that came with it is a bit stiff but fine

And with an FSS drop added later

It's not a £300 pound bridle but it's fine

I have an FSS crank noseband. It looks really smart and the leather is nice and soft. Although the buckles don't seem as hard wearing as the dearer brands but for the money it's really nice :) They have a rolled patent bridle which looks really nice ... must ... resist ... temptation :p

I bought a FFS bridle from saddlery for u, and its lovely. The noseband is chunky and thats what I was wanting and couldnt find at local saddlery places. Leather is soft and looks far more expensive that it is. Also I like the range of rein choices you get. I would highly recommend.

Evison are a great company. They're customer service is just brilliant. I haven't had a bridle from them but have had plenty of rugs and they've always been just super.

I'm pretty sure I remember them making up a bridle from all different sized parts for someone in NL so they might be the next people I go to as BH is a FS everywhere apart from his browband which really ought to be XFS.

I bought my lad an Evison Equine bridle for Christmas - great to find a comany where you can get a drop noseband as part of the package! I also bought him the bling browband. I'm really chuffed with the quality too and would have anything else from them in a heartbeat - particularly for the money.

Not the best picture - just tried on during the horrid snow last year but you get the idea:

I have 4 different bridles - an FFS, an Albion, a kieffer and an evision. I found the FFS took a lot of conditioning to get it supple and the kieffer stretched massively. The Albion is great, but needs regular conditioning to keep it nice. The evision on the other hand was wonderfully soft from the start and stays soft and shiny even if I don't clean it for a while or it gets soaked in the rain. When I need another, I'll get an evision. They do come up very large though - I have cobs for all my full size horses. Could do with smaller cheeks and noseband for one of mine, but don't think they do pony?
