My rottie is off to the vets in the morning for a check up.
Always been a clean dog but last night she piddled on my lounge carpet not once but twice.During the day she had access to the garden but still got caught short didn't realise until I found another soggy patch.Took her for a walk and she was peeing quite a lot couldn't see what it looked like or how much she was producingas it was dark.
In her self she appears to be ok, eating, not in distress but I think she is drinking more than normal. Is that because she is peeing more or is it because she has another problem.
I must admit I am thinking Diabetes here but am hoping for something simple like a water infection.
Am tempted to lift the water bowl overnight but I won't because if it is a kidney infection It will probably make it worse.
All will be revealed tomorrow hopefully
What I really need to know is what is the best thing to rid the smell of dog pee !!

Washing liquid as in the stuff that goes in the machine, surf to be precise was good on my rug after my cat pissed on it

How old is your rott? is she neutered?
take an early morning pee sample with you when u get her checked, she may have a urine infection, obs could be a number of other things, but handy to take a sample with you.

She is 7 never had her neutered as vet recommended me not to have her done - I know - most vets advocate getting them chopped. My decision was not to put her through the op but I would if the vet said it needed to be done.Never had a problem with her being in season.

I'll take a sample with me in the morning I will follow her round in the morning failing that I will ring out the carpet lol

Bicarbonate of soda will soak up most things. Try to soak up all the wet with kitchen towel, then sprinkle o lots of bicarb. Leave it a few hours then hoover it up.

I think I would suspect cystisis? I think neutering would be a good idea unless you want to breed from her?
