Had a lovely long day doing the elections on Thursday so Pidge had the day off, so took him and Sunny for a spin round Ranton XC yesterday ready for next weeks HT. Jumped fantastic round everything I put him at just scrambled over the ditch as its so small (only 2" deep if that) as he didn't really see it but still popped the stile after it ok.
Cooled them off and washed them off and went to walk him round again and he was hobbling lame

Rang vets and got him back to the yard and waited for the vet.
Vet thinks it is muscular and that when he lost his footing over the ditch he pulled a muscle in his near hind

So 5 days box rest, no dressage on Sunday

and no HT next Saturday

Fingers crossed it is just a pulled muscle and nothing more serious.

Thanks for the vibes everyone, much appreciated.
Well mucked out and bedded Pidge down this morning and took him for a walk up and down the barn and touch wood he seemed to be sound

So so so much better than yesterday where he could hardly walk on it!
So am going to leave him in over the weekend, and then have another word with the vets on Monday morning.
Phew one very relieved Suey

Really really hope he continues to improve as I was only reading your post about how he came into your life 4years? ? ago the other day. It was so lovely to see your X-country photos. Shame about missing your event but hope that Pidge is back to normal shortly

Glad to hear it sounds VERY temporary, fingers crossed and loads of vibes from me for you both (his for the leg, your for your continued sanity in the face of adversity
