Can anyone help or suggest a suitable method or alternative as trying to use as a preventative for the dreaded mud fever? My horse hates the stuff being applied, sprayed, squirted or gently slowly applied by hand. I would mention it's only oil I'm trying to apply without the sulphur. Normally sane and sensible beast!
Thank you

Maybe the pig oil is making him sore. I used it on my mare for several months for mallenders with no problem but eventually she started getting really touchy about the pig oil being applied. We concluded she was having some kind of reaction to the pig oil and found an alternative cream to use. Once we stopped using the pig oil she was fine with us using something else on her legs.

I'm spraying my mare daily Equimins Tea Tree Mist and it seems to be working better than anything else I've tried. It's not her favourite thing because it makes her skin twitch but she doesn't really object.

did you do a skin patch test, as it could be making him sore ?

failing this, shy was awful to mess around with - until I gave him a haynet, and then he could not care less.
