Pig oil & sulphur in winter, what in summer?

I have been using pig oil and sulphur in this recent wet weather and have been impressed, cobs feathers are nice and silky and starting to grow down to the floor again.

But I've heard that you shouldn't use this in the summer because it burns them, is that right?

and if not, what can I use in the summer to keep his feathers looking nice, and deter mites?

I won't use it; tried it on my trad-lad (pink legs & white hair) and it burned him. OK, so SHOULD have patch-tested first, but saw it recommended on here and tried it. Won't do it again Be careful peeps, patch test first if using.

Yes luckily I did patch test first and he was fine, so been slathering it on since!!
