I get mine from CWG the country store. You mix it up to the consistency of a thick milkshake and shake. I put mine in an old small fizzy drinks bottle, tip into my hand and rub in. I have used a water bottle with the squirty/non spill lid, then you can just squirt it onto the bit that needs doing. If you do this you need to make sure you have really shaken it well to get rid of the lumps.
When you apply it to white legs they go flurecent yellow but the next day they will be brilliant white.
PM me if you want the long very detailed PM I send to people - one thing, it is not hell to get off, just use hot water and fairy liquid or grannies soap flakes which has them white and fluffy in no time. Takes me no longer to wash the legs when they have been oiled up or not - apart from the first wash after the winter months, when they have six months of build up of oil.
I use it on my hairies with great success. No mites or skin problems for years and their feather is in great condition.
P&S makes a good barrier, an arab on my yard used to suffer with mud fever but I gave the owner some P&S which she applied daily and it stopped it happening. She could also wipe the legs clean instantly with a towel - mud slipped off.
Obviously cannot do the towel trick on with hairy legs. I have not had even a hint of MF since using the stuff, though keeping the feather on really helps too providing you don't keep washing it in winter.
Hi there, my mare has suddenley started stamping her feet on the ground, I haven't had her long, and owner said she has suffered with mites on her legs before and had to stop using brushing boots. Would pig oil and sulphur be the best thing?
