:).

My little grey boy went for a SJ clinic with Piggy French at our old yard today and he was a-ma-zing. It was tortuous getting there . . . we've been battling mud fever for the past month - two rounds of antibiotics, endless dressing and bandaging, multiple bouts of cellulitis, hours of hand walking and he's been confined to his stable for the past two weeks although we are working him. In addition, he managed to forge and rip a shoe off (a rather expensive, brand new egg bar shoe) yesterday afternoon so my wonderful farrier was at our yard at sparrow's cough this morning to put it back on.

But we got there.

And, despite having been confined to quarters for the past two weeks, he was a superstar. He didn't touch a pole, he didn't stop (and he's got a wicked dirty stop) and he didn't nap or run out. He jumped everything he was pointed at with enthusiasm and gusto and was pretty clever with his feet a couple of times. Piggy French liked him . . . said he was quirky but very pretty and honest over a fence.

Oh, and I have a signed picture of him with Ms. French :D.

Every time we take him out, he is better and better. Still "away with the fairies" some of the time, but he concentrates and tries when it counts. He's such a dude.

Glad you got the shoe situation fixed :)

I'm not surprised PF liked him, who wouldn't? :D

Oh I do so appreciate my farrier . . . he's so reliable, obliging and just downright nice. He didn't charge me for putting the temporary shoe on Kal and he won't charge me for refitting the shoe he lost either.

Liking Kal? Hmmm. He really is a marmite horse. I love him. Other people either really like him or really can't stand him. Glad you're in the fan club though :). He's not short of personality, that's for sure!

Well he continued his saintly behaviour when I hacked him out around our gallops and then took him the school (in the pouring rain) and he concentrated and worked his little socks off despite the rain running inside his ears. I do love my speckled, grey boy.
