Ok, so I have a TB ex racer that I have had for 6 months. She is now on holiday as I am broken.

She gets 1/4 scoop soaked Allen & Page calm and condition, 1 scoop mollichaff and a scoop of beet. (only been having beet a week). Also has a splosh of oil, premierflex for her joints and a 365 mineral supplement as she kept getting infections. She has this for morning and dinner.

Also gets as much hay as she can eat overnight and is rugged.

So, she hasn't put on any weight and still looks lean! Her condition has improved and the 365 has cleared up her scabs e.t.c and her joints are better from the premierflex.

Does Pink powder really help in weight gain???

I think I am feeding her ok. Suggestions welcome. Thanks

I would increase the amount of calm and condition - I have been really impressed with this in the past and had great results. Perhaps lower the amount of beet if the feed is too big?

I agree - I don't think your feeding enough concentrates. Try 1 scoop calm and condition and 1/4 scoop beet. Some TBs need a lot of food!

Once the A&P is puffed up and the rest added it looks huge!

Ok, so how about a scoop of A&P soaked, scoop of chaff and 1/4 beet?

I dont want to overload her with a huge feed bucket.

Thanks for your help x

I would recommend Protexin over Pink Powder. Its a much better product, Pre and pro biotics and much more of the little tikes too. Also if you want real weight gain I cant recommend Coolstance Copra meal enough. Its like a beet in the fact that you soak it and its sweet so they eat it up, but its high oil and fibre so weight gain and not heating and itd got a fair amount of vits and mins too.

Sounds more balanced - increase the A&P over a few days though. I would stick with your current feed types over the next month and monitor her weight to check she is gaining weight.

If I'm right - the Allen and Page contains beet (but non molassed?) so cutting the additional beet to 1/4 should be fine.

Hope your pony becomes rounder soon!

:)
