I have decided to try Daisy on a short course of Pink Powder to see if we can sort out her bloating and excessive wind. On the back it says feed four scoops a day if you feed concentrates, 2-3 scoops a day if you feed a balancer.

Daisy is fed 1kg Happy Hoof a day and 1 scoop equivite so what does that count as?

I only feed HI-FI original and when my boy was poorly i started him on 3 scoops per day and then after 2 weeks to 1 scoop per day,he is a big boy of 16"3...and it is FANTASTIC stuff you will notice a general improvement in condition and temperament, its a "Feel Good" supplement as well

Equivite is a general purpose vit and min supplement, hence you should feed 2-3 scoops of Pink Powder according to the recommendation. Although I wouldn't personally feed both Equivite and PP as I'd be too worried about over-supplementing.

I confess that I haven't sat and read the ingredients of both to check if they are the same but i would have thought that they do completely different things?

I thought pink powder was designed to be fed for short periods to give a digestive boost. Surely I wouldn't stop giving her vitamins because of this? If she was eating 2kg of Hapy Hoof she'd be getting a full ration of vitamins anyway and I wouldn't be able to take them out.

PP is also a feed balancer of sorts, so it can also be used as a vit and min supplement. Obviously if you feed two vit and min supplements you are in danger of over-supplementing. You'd probably be better either stopping the Equivite or getting a digestive supplement other than PP.

PP is a supplement that you feed short term a month or 2
" A concentrated feed balancer containing naturally occuring yeasts and probiotics, essential for the maintenance of correct gut function. Feed whenever the natural microbial balance of the gut is likely to be disrupted. Ideal for horses prone to anxiety, weight loss or loss of appetite."
Just reduce the Equivite intake if you are concerned rather than remove it completely,so when you have finished the course of PP you can just up the dose again ...I kept mine on the same supplemnt while on PP and it did them no harm

Over supplementing only really results in them Pi**ing it out if they dont need the extra vits!
I would reduce equivite a lil bit whilst on pink powder!

I feed concentrates and feed Baron 3 scoops per day. I use it as he has very very loose droppings otherwise. It has worked wonders, I highly reccomend it for digestive problems.

I've used a full container of Pink Powder for Athena as she had lost a bit of weight and also lost a bit of condition. She's since put on weight and her condition is almost back to how it was. Should I buy another one or stop using it???

I was feeding bailey's lo-cal and swapped to pink powder (due to space). TBH I haven't noticed a change in her condition after over a month, but she has started eating trees. Popular opinion seems to be that that is because she's lacking in something- copper? I have now stopped feeding PP and started a concentrated vit & min suppl instead. When I looked at the copper level it was very low.
