I saw benpony's post about Pink Powder and was wondering what it does. By the sounds of it Ethel might benefit from it but what exactly does it do?

It's a multivitamin with pre and pro biotics. It's bl**dy expensive though and I never noticed much difference. I use equibites now - cheaper and you can feed them as treats too :)
 
Hey, yes, it contains pre and pro biotics and is a general gut regulator and reestablished the natural gut flora. I have always found it incredible and really see the difference so from me it comes highly recommended...

now thats a statement i totally disagree with. i use it for both of my horses and they look fantastic on it. it is a multi vitamin designed to aid digestion, i use it on both my horses and they both look very well good condition and lovely coats. and it is relatively inexpensive i buy a tub with cost £25.95 last me 30 days with 2 horses so for only one it will last 60.

I should have clarified that my horses are out 24/7 on mixed pasture so have a reasonably 'balanced diet' anyway. It wasn't until I switched from PP to Equibites that I noticed any difference.

PP may work to a degree but IME Equibites are better :)

Agree with this! I have used it many times, with all sorts of horses and have always found it very effective for relatively little cost.
 
Yes, like I said - I have always really found it made a difference. It basically allows your horses digestive system to get all of the useful substances out of the food you are giving it rather than it just going out of the back end! I first used it on a horse that came malnutritioned to me, I popped him on PP and feel that it allowed him to improve in condition quicker. Since then I have put everything on it - I feel that it helps to turn food into muscle and generally improve their condition and coat shine.
 
I think it is also expensive when you think you can buy topspec balancer which is a complete food and no supplements needed. It has all the pro/pre biotics and hoof supplement and all mine look fantasic. Keep weight on it as well don't drop weight in winter. Pink powder is around £25 a tub plus food on top, I just pay 25 for topspec balancer and no more.
 
Love the PP - its so much more than a multi-vitamin.....I started using it initially as a booster for my mare after her last attack of azortoria/mild anemia. She recovered much quicker than she has done before, within a week her red blood cell count was back to normal and she just looks fab. The places where she had dropped muscle tone have quickly recovered. To top that, she's going better than ever is her ridden work.

I've had her nearly 6 years and she's been on a few balancers like top spec etc and nothing has ever made such an improvement as the PP!
 
Super useful post, trying to decide whether to put my boy onto PP as desperately trying to keep weight on him. I know it's all vitamins and minerals etc but can PP be heating? I noticed on another post that someone said it blew their TBs mind.
 
i was gonna use it for ben as he gets a loose tummy at the slightest change of grazing or when he goes onto winter haylage. i'm trying brewers yeast at the moment as it was sooo much cheaper. he's been on it 2 weeks and is noticeably better, but then it could also be due to him now getting used to the new grass. i'm gonna keep him on it right thru summer and see how he goes when he gets his winter hay.
 
I've been using Pink Powder for the past two months on my horse and he's looking so much better. I'm not entirely sure if this is the PP though or the spring grass. I daren't take him off it now, he looks so good! I didn't think it was that expensive to be honest, I'm still using the original tub I bought him at least 7 - 8 weeks ago.
My horse also lives out 24/7 and I tried Equibites on him but he refused to eat them!
 
I have used it on my mare for the past year or so as she was quite difficult to get weight on to start with. She looks fantastic on it, she often gets complimented on how good she looks and how lovely her coat is. I dont think it's expensive considering how long a tub lasts, and it is worth it in my opinion.
 
I didn't find it helped my mare at all. Personally I have had more success with balancers; both Bailey's Lo Cal, and Topspec senior. :)
