I'm looking at booking one of the daily mail offer holidays to stay at a caravan park but where we go will depend where there is you can ride on the beach as it's long been a bucket list item of mine :)
Was thinking around Southampton area or Sussex and Kent areas but would need to hire a horse as mine won't travel. Does anyone know places that do this while allowing you a reasonable amount of time? Was going to do it once but the place charged 50 quid and they were there 2 hours but there were 4 people per horse so you only got half an hour each.
Also novice sat on a horse once oh would probably be joining me so do they cater for novices too?
I would like to gallop along a beach :)

Personally I would think your options would be very limited im not sure I would hire out any of mine to somebody who wants 'to gallop along a beach' im sorry but beach excising is one of the most dangerous activities there is for horses ours are very rarely allowed to canter even as you need to know the sand your on like the back of your hand.

Maybe I worded it wrong I'd like to find somewhere that does hacks to the beach I'm well aware it will be with an instructor and would want to be as I wouldn't know the area. So meant somewhere like an rs or trekking centre that does rides there rather than hiring and being left to your own devices.
Leam Carrie your link looks lovely the private ones look really good but can't afford them atm but the group ones look very good value!

I don't think the OP wants to hire a horse from a private owner, but is looking for a riding school/ trekking centre. There are usually lots that offer beach riding, so I'm sure you will get some good recommendations OP.

Nowhere near the area you are looking at, but Nolton Stables in Pembrokeshire do a mixed ability beach ride. I did this with my complete beginner friend last year.

Once we were on the beach we were split into different groups according to ability. I spent my time cantering up and down (with some walking and trotting, of course), whereas my friend mostly walked, with a little bit of trotting. We were in an enclosed cove, so were riding up and down the beach, not going up a long stretch, but it worked well for a mixed ability group. They were also good about swapping people between groups - as I'm not overly confident on an unfamiliar horse at an unfamiliar stables, they took me for a canter on my own before I joined the 'happy canterers' group. A couple of others joined the cantering group later in the ride too.

The whole ride was roughly 90 minutes, with about an hour on the beach itself.

Miles away from your preferred destination but Field Farm in Mumby on the East Coast offer horse hire for you to go down to the beach. Think it's £50 for the day. The horses that I have seen have, without exception, been lovely.

I don't think there is anything in my part of West Sussex Worthing/ Littlehampton anymore. The beach where I live is just about rideable but the last two winters of storms have removed lots of sand that covered the flint and so you have to pick around the stony areas quite a bit. The riding school that used to do rides has also closed down.

I wouldn't pick it as a dream beach location to have a good gallop. Also from May to end September you can't ride on the beach between 10am and 6pm.

I had a holiday at Pontins near Brean Sands, Weston-Super-Mare when I was a teenager and used to ride the ponies on the beach - it was great for galloping.
