Hi guys

Just wondering where you've had the best response to an ad....placed on newrider but didn't get much response.

I'd want him to stay at the new yard in epsom, great facilities though.....

What would you charge for a 3/4 day a week share at a yard with 2 schools/jumping field, part livery and great hacking?

Thanks xx

I was thinking on line too though to get a good response. Is this a decent headshot? Got a nice one of him with my current sharer on him but not on the PC yet. What would you charge?

Sorry here's the wording:

8 Year Old TB for Part Share/Part Loan

Liver Chestnut, 16.1HH. Great opportunity for an experienced rider to get involved with this stunning looking TB. Currently being reschooled and showing potential with dressage/jumping. Safe but not a novice ride.

Stabled at Epsom – part livery (no muck out) 2 schools (one floodlit) jumping paddock and fantastic hacking.

Your local tack shops, farrier, vet, riding club.

Ditto especially as you want him to stay at current yard. My friend got her horse local tack shop, owner lived just 4 miles from her and they keep in contact regularly. Even your local farm paper, equestrian centre etc..

Didn't he turn out to smaller than originally thought? 15.2 HH or something. Might be worth putting a max weight if you want.

changed the wording....I don't mind if someone wants to compete or just a happy hacker....

Would suit someone wishing to compete (transport available) or a happy hacker.

I would be wary of using words like 'safe' in an ad, might bite you on the bum

Echo others- local tack shops etc, local farriers, instructors...

Good point x

For the charging, it will depend what you do... when I had one on part loan we halved everything (except insurance - she paid that).

A few people have said in the past to work out your weekly costs, divide by 7 to work out daily cost, then multiply by the number of days the sharer/loaner has the horse.

Some sharers will expect to ride for free in exchange for helping with jobs, so I'd make it clear in the ad that you are expecting some payment for the arrangement.

Ok - you don't have to pander to my obsessive mother ways! Right he's on horsemart now and I've printed out a load for tackshops etc....fingers crossed!

Cheers guys xx

can I ask why you want to loan/share him, I seem to remember you only bought him quite recently? Sorry if that sounds a bit rude, I can't think of another way to word it.

I recently put my chestnut boy on Horsemart to share and had about 40 replies !! However about 50% of them were from children (some of them even emailed without their parents consent!!) so I would put an age limit on the advert if you think this is necessary. No offence to children !!! My YO would not be happy if I let an unsupervised child on the yard if I was not there......

Had him nearly a year now......need to put a bit of extra time into other things that are going on in my life but still want to keep him fit so I can do some competing on him this summer.....no it's not rude
