New to hunting and i've worn tweed prior to the opening meet. I am over 18 and not a subscriber/member of any hunt, also riding a M&M (unplaited as mane is very thick and long and needs to be kept au natural for showing). Is it still ok to wear tweed or should i wear plain blue wool jacket? Didn't take horse to open meet but noticed majority were in plain.
Thanks

either is acceptable! if over 18 and under 25 and claiming pony club membership cheap rates tweed is more correct. At the end of the day if you are clean and shiny when you start at the meet, and have paid your way and are polite mannerly and helpful then nobody minds. have fun.

I wear plain on my Section D, it's warmer than my tweed.

I plait even though I think his mane looks better natural rather than the golf balls I achieve (mane not pulled) but as said as long as you are clean and tidy then go with what you feel comfortable with and have fun.

thanks guys, i do have both plain and tweed but would prefer to wear the tweed as it's older and not so worried about it getting mud splattered etc. Glad to hear it's ok to wear either.

Terrierliz - if i was to take my welsh i would plait him too but the pony i have been taking is a highland whos mane is verrrrrrrry long and thick and plaits would resemble rugby balls ... it's just not possible, lol. When we went last time though the master commented on his lovely mane so i don't think they minded. Alwyas make sure it's clean and brushed through etc.

Sorry Horseywelsh for stealing your thread.
Im on a Cleveland Bay (only m&m on windy cold days with mud on miles away ;))

I will be plaited up
Im 23 (with the OBH this puts me in the Young persons category)

Should I be wearing Black Jacket?? (Bearing in mind Sadly I can only afford about 6 days out total this Winter)
