I'm taking my hairy to pony club camp this summer and I was wondering how on earth I can plait his mane for tack and t/o every morning? I'm certainly not pulling his mane (he looks like a right goof) but I need it to be easy enough to quickly get it done in the morning. Any ideas on how I cammn get about this hairy coblet's mane? :P thanks

If it is long and he is a cob do a running plait, very quick and easy to do and acceptable for cobs showing so should be good enough for Tack and T/O

looking forward to replies as letting my ISH mane grow at the moment i band into about 13 sections then halve each bit and band with neighbour to form diamonds ok but would not be neat enough for T &Tout.

Pips has a really long thick mane and it's the work of 5mins to do this:

Takes a bit of practise but it's easy once you know how (it's basically a one sided french plait)

brush with pig oil before you plait it keeps it tangle free n silky

oh yes - I want those steps too.
And is that a CB in your Sig Kalli??

I do a running plait similar to Kalibears I think - Like doing one long massive tail! (I have to sit on top to do it and stop it looking wonky!)

I do a running plait, anything really from nice and posh for a show or a rough one (as in my sig) just to keep his mane out of my face when we hack/xc and to keep him cooler :)

Steps are from Homebase! Or possibly B&Q. The initial steps were from robinsons but I don't think they do them anymore, and when I spotted them in passing in Homebase I nabbed another pair.

Nope, no cleveland bay: she's a TBX clydesdale, and is currently broken :( (Although the vet has not idea what's actually wrong with her)
