We are taking our beautiful Norwegian fjord to a agricultural show next week. However he is not hogged, for reasons beyond our control we can't hog him. So what should I do with his mane?
I was thinking of doing a French braid along his neck and then leaving his tail? I figured this looks most like when they're hogged? He also looks nice with a diamond braid.
He won't be doing any really serious showing classes, he's entered in young handlers, dressage and an agility/bhs trec class. Also any tips for ensuring his tail bandage stays on in the trailer? No matter how I do it it always seems to slip off. Thanks!

Gosh - quick google couldn't find any pictures of them plaited up even here http://www.fjord-horse.co.uk/photos.htm.

I think a French braid would look very smart and diamonds are lovely but more for the handlers/dressage than agility possibly (not that it should make a difference for that) but you might be able to get away with showing him 'au naturel' like a native as he sort of is one (even if not native to here!) iyswim?

Have fun and post pics whatever you choose!

thanks for that :)
(sorry for taking forever to reply i've been away)
i've decided to go for a double french braid.
hopefully all will go well at 4am on show day!
thanks again.
