With my first event creeping up oh so quickly, my horse's mane is looking rather shoddy - due to the weather this winter he's hardly been out of a neck cover, but has subsequently rubbed half of his mane off!

Anyone got any tips to make him look neat and tidy still? His lower half of mane is very short and thin from being rubbed whilst the top half is lovely, yet a half plaited mane I think will look daft!

Any tips will be appreciated!
Thanks!

make some falsies out of his tail hair (if he has enough to spare) and attach them into the strands that are at the bottom of his mane. That's what i did with my lads. They were a little bit sticky uppy compared to the others, but looked better than big plaits at top, then no plaits or twists nearer bottom.

I've jsut done the 5 plaits before, rather than the normal 7 that I usually do.

If I'm jumping, I pop on a breastplate and no one can see!! LOL

I just do 4 at the top, althuogh Weezy has told me to do 8

and then just gell down the rest! Looks smart and less hassle
