Plaiting M+Ms for unaff working hunter?

Do I need to plait a welsh sec d for a local working hunter?
I'm assuming that I can show him as a sec d in the WH class or is this incorrect?

My sec D and I came 3rd in a class of 8 working hunter, and I was the only one unplaited. (But my horse jumps, unlike some of the ones that look the part!)

it would be against his type and it has never counted against him, we normally do quite well.

and yes you can show him in WH class. I often do open WH rather than the M+M WH if they have one because the M+M jumps are normally very small. (that sounds a bit pompous!) he goes much better over a bigger open course- and its more fun!
