Right then I need some advice, On saturday I'm taking my new nag out for the first time, he has to be plaited. However he's a Welsh D and although his mane is pulled it doesn't plait! Anyone got any advice or ways of plaiting native manes?!
Also is anyone going out with the puckeridge on Saturday?

Do the hunt know he is a Section D? I dont think Natives have to be plaited! My mares mane doesnt plait either, and she is a coloured, so I hogged it!!!!!!

They like you to plait and be clean and tidy out of respect for the land owners. Where is the meet (PM if you prefer - I have a meet card just can't be bothered to look for it!) They meet by me on 19th.

Also if your horse has lots of mane you will be pleased to get it out of the way when you are trying to stop rapidly in all the wet heavy clay around atm.

I know our hunt would like people to plait on occasions like the opening meet etc but the rest of the season , the few of us who are plaited are in the minority ! Not even our secretary plaits ! If you re clean and tidy wearing the correct kit and mannerly in the field they should be bloody grateful to have a newcomer interested ! I hope they were nice to you ?
