It is our local show tomorrow and I am showing my Clydesdale in had for the very first time (gulp) I have had my spies out at other shows recently and they had come back with pictures of Clydesdales with 2 small plaits either side of their tail with bows, have tried this and even though he looks a bit of a wooly woofter will give it a go, but why is it done that way, is there a bit of history to it??? Just in case I am asked

Cant think that you would be asked to know why. But the only reason I can think of would be back to the old working days they would of worn a crupper so this would keep the hair out at the top. Also they use to shave the tails off so they didt get trapped in the chains when ploughing or get covered in mud. I'm not certain but that is the only reason I can think of??? Have a great time at the show & hope you do well.
