ive got the best jumping pony ever! (hense the name jumpjaky!) and when i do jumping classes(riding club-tiny classes) i wonder wether to plait. should i just do it for the big classes? or not at all

i just think its a bit odd that everyones plaited and i turn up with a scraggy mane!

If you are in showing classes, unless it is M&M you absolutely MUST plait

I never plait for SJ. Even for eventing when most people seem to leave plaits in for the SJ phase (at an ODE), I take mine all out and do look a bit scraggier than everyone else but I have a thing about letting the horse use his neck without stupid plaits pulling the hair on his neck and bugging him!

I dont pull tails either, the fashion nowadays is more towards leaving a nice natural tail (still cut straight at the bottom though obviously) - if you watch top level SJ on TV, most tails arent pulled anymore.
