Planning permission to put fences/dressage markers in a field?

Does anyone have any experience of this?
I'm just in the thinking stages, but considering turning a corner of my field into an "arena" with some jumps and dressage markers etc.

I believe that if you don't permanently change the use of the land (our livestock will still be grazing this area as per usual) and it's without fencing, you don't need planning permission...

I've fired an email off to the planning dept of my local council, but just wondering if anyone has any prior knowledge?

I very much doubt you would need planning permission as long as the markers and jumps are removed every now and then.
I did have to apply for planning permission for a permanent cross country course on my land.

I think it depends on what permission the land already has and if it's agricultural then I understand you do need permission if you want to ride in it, let alone put jumps up. Seems really stupid but it's a bit like the recent post about someone needing permission the feed their horses additional food other than just grazing. Not sure of the exact terminology / type of permission but it might be something like amenity use? There must be tens of ithousands of horse owners breaking the law so let's hope the 'jobs-worths' don't have a clampdown or we'll all be in the dock!

I think you are on about change of use..if you have agricultural land and you intend to feed (hard feed or hay) horses on there you will need change of use from agricultural to equestrian.

I woulden't of thought you would need planning for markers or jumps if you already have equestrian use for your land.
